Delhi had very thick fog from January 3 to 4, which caused almost no visibility for nine hours. This made it hard for planes to land and take off at the airport. More than 100 flights were delayed, and 19 flights had to go to other airports.

The fog didn’t just affect Delhi, but also nearby places like Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. In Delhi, the fog started at 11:30 p.m. on January 3 and lasted until 8:30 a.m. on January 4.

The visibility was so low that pilots couldn’t see clearly, making it difficult to fly safely.

Because of the fog, 108 departing flights and 48 arriving flights in Delhi were delayed by 8 a.m. Passengers were advised to check with airlines for updates.

Some flights couldn’t take off or land because they didn’t have the equipment needed for low visibility. On Friday, more than 400 flights were delayed, with some delays over 45 minutes.
